Monday's Dose - 31st December 2012

Glory to God

And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. - Genesis 4:1.
When a potter makes a pitcher, does the pitcher take credit for controlling the milk it holds? Does it take credit for pouring without spilling? Does it take credit for it's capacity to be cleaned to hold another batch of milk? Does it credit itself for its shape and beauty?

The potter wouldn't think so. The potter would take credit for the balance of the pitcher, the flow of the milk, its shape, and its beauty. The potter designs a pitcher with these attributes in mind.
God has so designed us. God creates each person to his satisfaction. Our lives are for his benefit.

Eve learned her lesson from the forbidden fruit episode. When she conceived and bore her first child, she did not credit herself, even though she carried the child nine months to term, went through all the complicated hormonal changes throughout the pregnancy, and then suffered the birth pains. Eve learned to listen and submit to God, putting him before herself. She therefore willingly gave God the glory.

This is what God desires from all of us.

Prayer: Almighty God, please do not count the times we have taken credit for the work of your hand. Forgive us and teach us to credit you for all things that benefit us. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."
Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.
