God's Calling On Our Lives

Today's Scripture

“If you love me, you will obey what I command” - (John 14:15).

Thoughts for Today

Obeying God is the most courageous thing we can do. In our society today, rebellion seems to be the status quo. So many people are going against the grain of our cultural norms that their actions have become the norm. When this type of thinking seeps into the way we view God, we begin to venture down a very dangerous path—a path of disobedience.

God has a special calling on each person's life. However, our response to His calling determines whether we will be courageous followers or rebellious children.

Many times, we resist God's calling because we fear what He might make us do. We forget that His plan is the best possible plan for us. His calling on our lives does not mean we are doomed to a lifestyle we loathe; rather, it is a calling to experience the fullness of life as we have yet to know it.

There were many moments in which David could have wandered down another path. After all, King Saul was chasing him across the countryside, wanting nothing less than to take David's life. Yet, during this difficult time in his life, God's man chose to remain faithful and obedient to the Lord.

If we want to become courageous champions for Christ, we must remember that obedience to God is the cornerstone of our love for Him. While we may praise God with our mouths, what we do with our lives demonstrates where our hearts truly rest. God's calling on our lives awaits our obedience, and our decision to follow and obey Him, no matter what.

Prayer: Our Loving Heavenly Father, show me what it means to walk in true obedience to the call You have placed on my life. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Friday and God Bless you.
