Much Will be Required

Today's Scripture

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” – Luke 12:48 NASB.

Thoughts for Today

What does God expect from each of us? In many ways, we can know the answer by examining what He has given us—our skills and interests, our traits and characteristics, the areas in which we excel.

From the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-31), we see how God gives each of us differing resources and unique abilities, and He only holds us accountable for the talents we’ve been given.

In a similar way, Jesus taught that “much will be required” from those who have been given much. God blesses us so we can use the gifts we’ve been given. This applies in every area—our minds, our bodies, our relationships, our finances.

But, based on the evidence, it seems that some Believers don’t take this warning seriously. They remain unmoved when they see Souls who need salvation…people who are hurting…and ungodly forces attacking Christians.

God is watching. What will they do? Will they just focus on themselves and their own interests? Or will they get involved and make a difference? Will they vote for Godly leaders? Will they take a stand? Will they reach out to those in need? Will they stand up for their faith? Will they humble themselves before God and pray for revival?

In your life, think about what God has given you. What have you done with these gifts and talents? How are you investing your time and resources? Remember: “From everyone who has been given much, much will be required.”

Search your heart and mind. You are called to be the “light of the world” and obey Jesus’ clear instruction to “let your light shine” (Matthew 5:14-16). Be ready to use the gifts God has given you, and never be afraid to be a bold witness for the Gospel.

Prayer : Our Loving Heavenly Father, thank You for all You have given me. Open my eyes to see how I can invest these resources to impact others. I will seek first Your Kingdom. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Monday and God Bless you.
