Feast That Never Stops - Sunday's Dose - 5th November 2017

“All the days of the desponding and afflicted are made evil [by anxious thoughts and forebodings], but he who has a glad heart has a continual feast (regardless of circumstances).” - Proverbs 15:15 Amplified Bible.

Thoughts for Today

Can life really be a “continual feast”? This is not fantasy or fiction, but a promise in the Bible. In fact, Proverbs describes how our hearts can be filled with gladness, regardless of our circumstances.

This does not change the fact that we all go through life’s ups and downs. But the Bible reminds us that we are not helpless victims. God gives us the ability to change our outlook. We can choose to have a negative attitude or to trust Him and believe that He truly can give us a “glad heart.”

Just picture a feast that never stops. It’s a picture of abundance and unending delight. There is no anxiety or dread, no fear or doubt. Every need is met. This is God’s desire for us!

Some may think that this is unrealistic and too good to be true. They are allowing their lives to be dominated by doubt and disbelief. As a result, they fail to experience God’s blessings, and their minds are filled with “anxious thoughts and forebodings.”

The Hebrew words here show a connection between our attitude and our experience. If our minds are filled with negativity, we can expect to feel afflicted. This can lead to a sense of hopelessness. In fact, when we reject God’s Word, we should not be surprised that we fail to receive His highest desire for us and that His blessings don’t flow freely into our lives.

But everything is different for those who believe His Word, who trust in Him, and who let Him fill their hearts with gladness.

Today, fill your life with God’s Word. Declare His promises to be true for you. Believe Him. Trust Him. Let Him give you a glad heart!

Prayer : Our Loving Heavenly Father,

I declare that Your Word is true. Fill me with Your Spirit. Let me know the fullness of Your joy. Help me to experience a “continual feast” in my life. Thank you for hearing and answering my prayer. Gratefully, In Jesus Loving Name I Pray, Amen."

Have a Blessed Sunday and God Bless you.
